Crunchy, Chewy, Perfect

After a long day of hunting or exploring the outdoors, nothing hits the spot quite like a warm, gooey chocolate chip cookie. These are easy to make and impossible to resist—just the way we like them at the lodge.

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter with both sugars until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  2. Add in the egg, vanilla, and salt—mix until fully combined.
  3. Slowly incorporate flour, starch, baking soda, chocolate chips, and
  4. walnuts.
  5. Let the dough rest for 10 minutes.
  6. Form 10 small dough balls and place on a baking sheet.
  7. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  8. Bake for 12 minutes, or until edges are slightly golden and centers
    remain soft.

    Tip: Let them cool slightly before serving for that perfect gooey bite

  • 1⁄4 pound butter (soft, pomade-style)
  • 1⁄2 cup brown sugar
  • 1⁄2 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1⁄2 tsp baking soda
  • 1⁄2 tsp salt
  • 11⁄4 cups flour
  • 1 tbsp starch (for added softness)
  • 11⁄2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
